Dubai is renowned  the world over for its shopping and duty free shops. The best time of year to visit is during the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF). For a full month, shoppers can enjoy reduced prices and lively entertainment while they shop.

Over two million visitors attend the Dubai Shopping Festival each year, with spending reportedly in excess of US$1 billion. The Dubai Shopping Festival has been going since 1996. Purely for the atmosphere try the souks, located on either side of Dubai Creek, at the souks bargaining is the name of the game. The Gold Souk at Sikkat al-Khali St is Dubai's most famous bazaar where you will find necklaces, bracelets, earrings and more in 18, 21 and 22 carat gold.

Many shoppers visit the Dubai Shopping Festival to find top brand items in fashion and electronics. Dubai Duty Free, the sponsors, put on lively entertainment in the form of street performances, fashion shows, laser shows, prize draws fireworks and theatre performances.

The 2008 Dubai Shopping Festival runs from 24^th January through to 24^th February 2008.
